LightZone 4.1.7 and preferences

Posting rules: It shouldn't need saying, but... play nice. Please keep your discussions civil. You can disagree, just don't be disagreeable. And, of course, all of the usual stuff like no spamming. Tex adds: I'll be rigorously enforcing this as we go along. We're probably going to be a small community in a little lifeboat, so we can't have members at each others' throats. This is for the sake of the project as a whole. So when you post, pretend you're speaking in person with your very wealthy auntie who has always treated you wonderfully and currently lists you prominently in her will. I won't be tossing anyone out of the forums because we are all in this together (except spammers: immediate membership cancelation), but I'll delete suspect posts right away.

LightZone 4.1.7 and preferences

Hi,

LightZone 4.1.7 SnowLeopard for Mac OS X 10.9.5 does not change the preferences.

It does not open the curtains so l can not change thr parameters, for example can not convert the file from sRGB to AdobeRGB.

It'a problem of my download, or LightZone is a problem to be solved?

Thank you!

Grayed Out?

In Browse mode most things are grayed out while in Edit mode menu items are available.  Are you sure that you are in Edit mode?  Since no Mac users are responding, perhaps you can provide screen shots of you issues.  Drop Box is a popular site to try.

In practice, in the preferences menu, if you want to save the file in Adobe RGB color profile, I open the curtain for editing, but this appears for a split second and then disappears, so do not allow me to edit the profile. Default I have the s-RGB profile. By default Luckily I Tiff format, otherwise I would have been able to export only the JPG.

The same thing happens in the editing panel; for example if I apply it radiates tool, I can not change the blend mode, because the curtain appears for a split second.

Although after the change back in puff panel, and use the Convert button, I have the same problem.

Thank you.

Sounds Like a Problem

that version of Mac.  I'm surprised others using that version and the latest version of LZ haven't been complaining too.  Have you tried clearing/deleting old versions of LZ and cache, then reinstalling?  Short of a versioning problem I have no idea.

I initially downloaded the

I initially downloaded the Sierra version, opened the software, but do not open the files.

I removed the trash and I downloaded the Snowleopard that opens the files, but it has the problem described.

I actually tried to eliminate even that to download it again, but the problem remained.

I've already thought about making another attempt with another download.

Thanks again.

Thanks Jacal,

Thanks Jacal,
the thred made me find a solution to the blend mode. Just hold your mouse on the window of the method and scroll with the wheel.

The same trick does not work in the LZ preferences for the color profile.

I struggle with translations from English, the thread tells of Java 6, or 8.
Says libiomp5, but I should be okay with everything. Everything works fine, except the curtain.

They talk about previous versions without this problem.
What are the real differences between the latest versions?
I imagine they are in terms of algorithms. More likely, they added new cameras. The point is that I use Fujifilm x-pro2. It may only be available in the latest version LZ.

Well, even the 4.1.6 version

Well, even the 4.1.6 version allows me to use the x-Pro2.

Thank you Steve!

Hello,

Hello,

with the 4.1.6 version if I go in the preferences, it opens an error window.
So it does not allow me to change the parameters.

Same thing if I try to open the converter window.

So I went back to version 4.1.7
For the moment I have to keep the s-RGB profile.

I seem to notice a thing; clicking in the preferences, above the color profile window, which opens the curtain for a split second, so short that you can not even read. I think I see written only s-RGB, Adobe RGB can not wait. It is not by chance that I do not have this color profile? And that I have to upload it somewhere?

Yes, Roberto, I can duplicate

Yes, Roberto, I can duplicate all of the issues you've outlined on my Macbook running Snow Leopard. Many of the drop-down boxes with a clickable arrow display their choices for a millisecond only. It doesn't seem to matter whether I approach Preferences from the Browse menu or the Edit menu, the result is the same. And I think you're right about the colour profile box - I can't see anything other than sRGB either. I don't have a solution, but I guess there's comfort in knowing it's not just you or your computer... I guess we just have to wait for one of the developers (bless 'em) to fix it in due course.

Les

Interestingly, I've just tried the same exercise in Linux and all the drop-down boxes work perfectly, showing all of their options. Looks like it's a Mac issue. Hallo, Ubuntu!

Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year everyone!

Ok, I have come to your own conclusion.
Maybe it will take a bit 'of time, but definitely the problem will be resolved.

Thanks again!
