DCRaw - Add Visual Studio solution

Posting rules: It shouldn't need saying, but... play nice. Please keep your discussions civil. You can disagree, just don't be disagreeable. And, of course, all of the usual stuff like no spamming. Tex adds: I'll be rigorously enforcing this as we go along. We're probably going to be a small community in a little lifeboat, so we can't have members at each others' throats. This is for the sake of the project as a whole. So when you post, pretend you're speaking in person with your very wealthy auntie who has always treated you wonderfully and currently lists you prominently in her will. I won't be tossing anyone out of the forums because we are all in this together (except spammers: immediate membership cancelation), but I'll delete suspect posts right away.

DCRaw - Add Visual Studio solution

Hi All,

I was looking through upcoming LZ changes found here --> https://github.com/ktgw0316/LightZone/compare/4.1.7...master and noticed The Visual Studio solution found here --> https://github.com/ktgw0316/LightZone/commit/3938d7c018893822deff32a23e2... and was curious as to what this change will do for LZ in the future.

Also, while looking through the change list I noticed that DCRaw hasn't been modified since 5/10/2016.  Then I found the code page where Dave Coffin has and noticed that there was a year plus change between the 2015 and 2016 modification.  Here is the DCraw code page with updates and code below --> http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/RCS/dcraw.c,v.  For example the last modification included the Canon 80D.  I wonder how many new cameras are missing from the list.  It could be many and the reason folks in LZ can't do raw conversion on newer cameras.

EOS 5D Mark IV,

for instance, is missing from the list, but the developers of RawTherapee, also using dcraw, did manage to add what was called preliminary support, some time ago. LightZone can't render these files properly and might have problems even with the next version, I guess.

Interesting

I don't have the Canon 5D IV so really have no reason to test.  I stopped using RT (looks like 4.2-4 is latest available in Ubuntu 16.04) because it was dragging my very modest PC down to a crawl.  The file created by the RT team looks like a similar build to LZ's RTC, at least in appearance anyway.  My question is, why do you feel that the LZ team will have such difficulty with success of the RTC?
