Canon 6D raw files

Posting rules: It shouldn't need saying, but... play nice. Please keep your discussions civil. You can disagree, just don't be disagreeable. And, of course, all of the usual stuff like no spamming. Tex adds: I'll be rigorously enforcing this as we go along. We're probably going to be a small community in a little lifeboat, so we can't have members at each others' throats. This is for the sake of the project as a whole. So when you post, pretend you're speaking in person with your very wealthy auntie who has always treated you wonderfully and currently lists you prominently in her will. I won't be tossing anyone out of the forums because we are all in this together (except spammers: immediate membership cancelation), but I'll delete suspect posts right away.

Canon 6D raw files

I was able to edit one RAW file, after that, every time I select a RAW file and click edit I get an error " Invalid image file C:\Users\James\AppData\Local\Temp\LZRAWTMP8595422683525921825.pgm" Any idea what is wrong? My C: drive is very low on space, it is an SSD drive. I'm not sure that has anything to do with it though because my sister gets the same error, she also uses a 6D.

Works for me

I'm using LZ 4.1.2 on my Windows 10 HP Mini.  I'm editing directly off my SD card.  Then I tried one on my hard drive itslef.  It also worked without errors.  What version on Lightzone are you using?  Are you using Windows 10?

I use windows 8.1, latest

I use windows 8.1, latest version of lightzone. My Sister gets the same error using Windows 7, andthe same version of lightzone. Are you using a Canon 6D?

Yes, Canon 6D

Shooting raw.  I have two PCs, the Windows 10 one with not the latest LZ 4.1.2 and Ubuntu 14.04 with the latest version of LZ 4.1.5.  Both can process the Canon 6D raw files with no problems.  I'm apprehensive about update the LZ to the latest since it serves no purpose for my situation when the older version works fine.

Does this happen

also with EOS 6D files from other sources (here are some samples) or raw files from other cameras? Can you open your CR2 files with other raw editors?

...

Clearing LightZone's cache and resetting the settings helps sometimes.

Do You Have a 64 Bit or 32 Bit PC?

If you have a 32 bit and downloaded the AMD 64 bit that could cause issues and vice-aversa.

My system is 64 bit but not

My system is 64 bit but not AMD, I can open and edit the files in Lightroom and photoshop. I will try raw files from my 50D and 20D after work. Good idea.

Install 64-bit LZ

LightZone-Installer-4.1.5-amd64.exe is 64-bit version that you should install, the other one - LightZone-Installer-4.1.5-x86.exe - is 32-bit.

The original specification was created by AMD, hence the name. (info)

I hope this will solve your problem.
