Beta 13 doesn't recognize altered file name

Posting rules: It shouldn't need saying, but... play nice. Please keep your discussions civil. You can disagree, just don't be disagreeable. And, of course, all of the usual stuff like no spamming. Tex adds: I'll be rigorously enforcing this as we go along. We're probably going to be a small community in a little lifeboat, so we can't have members at each others' throats. This is for the sake of the project as a whole. So when you post, pretend you're speaking in person with your very wealthy auntie who has always treated you wonderfully and currently lists you prominently in her will. I won't be tossing anyone out of the forums because we are all in this together (except spammers: immediate membership cancelation), but I'll delete suspect posts right away.

Beta 13 doesn't recognize altered file name

I have two different Olympus cameras. To keep the raw files apart I tried naming the files produced by the EM-1 starting with the Letter "M" instead of the default "P". Somehow Lightzone doesn't recognize this files until I rename them again to the default. Is there any place in LZ where I can configure this?

Funny

This looks quite unusual to me and I can't reproduce it. No matter how I rename files - from EM-1 or my Canon - LZ beta 13 has no problems with them. Ubuntu Studio and Windows 7, both 64-bit.

That is weird. Linux Mint 64bit here. If I have the files in the browser view, the default file name is for example PB231160.ORF    The preview shows in the browser window. Opening up a shell and renaming the file to MB231160.ORF - and the file disappers from the preview. Reset light zone settings did not change anything.

Any ideas?

No ideas...

I use Ubuntu 14.10 64bits here (should be almost like Mint) and I always rename my Fuji RAF files when importing them using a schema like :

photonoxx-{date}-{hours}....RAF

LZ doesn't have any problem to open them.

No Problem with my mint

I use Rapid Photo Downloader to import and rename my .orf files and they show up in Lightzone on my Mint17 64bit distro. There was a problem awhile ago if underscores were used in the renaming scheme but I think that's been rectified.

Perhaps you have to get Lightzone to reload/re-read/re-ingest the folder.

Cheers,
Doug

Doug,

Doug,

do you actually change the first letter? I deleted the Lightzoneconfig and removed the browser cache. All the same result. I can change or add all kinds of letters after the first letter, but as soon as I change the first letter the file doesnt show in the browser view anymore.

greerd
Yes I do

I change the entire scheme to M5YYMMDDXXX.orf, but its done before its ever loaded into lightzone. Never tried changing during or after.

Jacal
Well, I did

change the first letter of an EM-1 raw file from P to M and back multiple times and ways, in Linux and Windows, without problem.
