Masahiro has released LZ v4.2.1.  I have been remiss in not posting this sooner, but here it now is. Changelog is here, with bug fixes and an improvement to UI language selection.  Please give Masahiro a day to upload the installers.

Registration Changes Coming Soon

Based on a thread that was started here a while back, and its updates, we are looking to open up downloading so that no registration is required.  We'll still require it for the forums.  Therefore you will see a clean-up of this front page "soon", and separate direct links for developers and the rest of us.  So, watch this space(update 5/9/2020)....

Imaging Resource Update

It seems Imaging Resource has been bought by Madavor Media, publisher of several photography related publications (among other things).  This may be a good thing long range, we hope, but for now it's good news for LightZone, as Imaging Resource stays alive.

Stay Safe, LightZone Community

It's been just over 100 years since the world has faced a pandemic as significant as COVID-19---in 1918 with the "Spanish" influenza (a misnomer---it didn't originate in Spain).  As we begin to quarantine ourselves in North America, our hearts go out to the people of China, Italy, and Iran who have so far been hit the hardest.  My eldest daughter, who is pursuing a PhD in public health at the Medical University of Vienna, says that we should all now be limiting our exposure as much as possible to other people, even outdoors.  So, now is maybe a good time to work on our post-processing skill

News about Imaging-Resource

Many of you may already know this, but at the end of 2019 year Imaging-Resource, one of the internet's most reliable digital camera sources, had decided to scale back its operations in a significant way.  This is sad for We don't know yet what this will wind up meaning long range---it seems the site is continuing its operations more or less as before from what I can see for now.  Read through for more on this...

March 15, 2020: LightZone 4.2 Is Here!

Hello to all of you!  It's been a long time, I know, but things have been quiet and we who bring you LightZone have been truly busy in our personal and business lives.  But now, after a long wait, LightZone 4.2 is here and now has lens corrections and some other goodies.  This is a bit that has long been missing and has long been hoped for by the community.  Masahiro has done it again, though, and after a major effort has managed to integrate this feature into LightZone. We owe him a huge debt of thanks.  READ THROUGH TO GET MORE INFORMATION!

Happy Yule 2018! Here's a present....

A very happy holidays to all our members and other interested parties!  We hope they will be good ones, and that the new year will be bright for you.  We have a new release from our lead developer Masahiro, please read further for more info...

Happy Thanksgiving to Our Membership.

In the United States, today is Thanksgiving Day, a national holiday of remembrance.  There are celebrations in other countries on other dates, from different traditions.  In North America they seem to date back to the Protestant Reformation, and the one for the U.S. can be traced back to Virginia in 1619 and 1621 in Massachusetts.  George Washington proclaimed the first national holiday in the U.S., and Abraham Lincoln called for the first nationwide celebration for all the states in 1863 in the midst of our fierce civil war.  Today I am giving thanks for those great presidents to remind myself of the goodness we are capable of, as well as the health and good fortune my family has today.  My best to all of you.

June 5 2018: Some Curious Registration Problems

I have been getting an uptick in messages from new registrants who are encountering difficulties.  I am not sure why this is, but will try to find out.  I am currently traveling on business for the next few weeks, but have my laptop and internet access.  But my days are not my own...Thanks for your patience, Tex.

Website Outage, February 4-5, 2018

Either yesterday or today, February 5, 2018, we experienced some kind of total website outage.  We don't yet know what happened or why.  All I can say is that the last full database backup we had was January 5 2018, so that is where we are now.  For those of you who posted after that up until now, our apologies for lost posts---please post again.  The same goes with probably several hundred new members!  You may need to re-register.
